    I have a clock radio with a iPod dock on my night stand and it would not fit my iPhone with the case on. This cable allows me to charge my iPhone without removing my case. The cable is long enough to answer calls and use apps while still connected.

    I bought this because I have both a 3GS and iPhone4 that are in OtterBox cases. I didn't want to have to take them out in order to use the iHome I have or other devices that the phones can sit in. The cable worked perfect right out of the box. I didn't need to "shave" any plastic off to get the cable to fit. I've been able to sync, charge, and play audio with the cable without any problem. I'm going to buy a second one now that I know it works like as advertised!
